Fishing

Gavin and I took the boys fishing up to Strawberry and Shay caught the biggest fish I've ever seen. It was a rainbow trout. I've never in my life caught one that big. I think dad may have been a little more excited than shay was. He's been a little discouraged by his lake recently cuz there are too many cutthroats and not enough rainbows. So to be able to catch a rainbow and a huge one at that made his day. We made it back to the marina and he got to have his picture taken with the fish to display at the marina. It weighed in at almost 5lbs!!! I think he's got the fishing bug.

Steel Days picnic in the park

Every year American Fork has their big Steel Days celebration and for that they have a thing called Picnic in the Park. It is at a huge park just behind our house. They have blow up castles and little carnival rides and games and face painting and tons of fun stuff for little kids to do. And the best part is it's all FREE!! So the moms and grandma take the kids and have a blast. Then at dusk they have a huge movie screen set up and then we watch a movie. This year we watched Madagascar 2. The kids have so much fun. We set out blankets and chairs, soak ourselves in bug spray and enjoy a nice evening. And somehow my kids will actually sit and watch the whole thing. Even Cade. Maybe they are just so wore out from the days events that they are glad to get to rest. Whatever it is, it's a fun memory that we hope to make a tradition.

What a beautiful princess!! Poor little Sadie is stuck with all these rowdy boys. But somehow she manages to hold her own. She is such a delight to have around.

OOOH!! What a scary couple of kids. Ty thinks he's just so tough and Mason's just glad to be here. What a pair!

The picture is a little fuzzy, but here we are just before the movie. What a ham that kid is!!

Muttin' Bustin'

Here he is the big sheep rider!! He was so excited to get to ride the sheep. Ever since he started riding 2 yrs ago all he's ever wanted was a trophy just like Ty's. Ty won the sheep riding when he was only 3 years old and so it's been Shay's lifelong goal to win a trophy for himself. Which he was able to do this night!! He got a score of 85 points and beat out all the other competition and won his very own trophy. All he could say after that night was "I can't believe I won!! I can't believe I won!!" And I think it helped a little too that it was taller than Ty's Trophy. Way to go Shay!!
The little guy in the back ground is my nephew Payton. He was so excited to get to ride sheep with Shay. He did pretty good too, but was unable to stay on for very long.

Don't ask me why grandma and grandpa look so upset like something tragic just happened. Who knows what they're thinking!

What a couple of handsome cowboys!!

Mason also rode the sheep that night but was unable to stay on for very long.

New Cowboy Hats

Grandma Henrie took the boys out to Cal Ranch the day before the Strawberry Days Rodeo to buy them new cowboy hats. They were so excited for the rodeo and for the sheep riding. Shay was especially excited and maybe a little nervous. Aren't they so cute?

My Little All-Star!

Ty was chosen to be on the rookie all-star team for American Fork youth Baseball this year. His coach says he's "a natural". He is an excellent hitter and got to pitch for the first time in his first tournament game on June 30th. He thought he was pretty hot stuff.

10 Whole Years!!!

Here are some pics of Gavin and I for our TEN year anniversary!! I made BBQ pork ribs, potato salad, etc and had a cute little picnic up at Deer Creek. We sat on a big blanket next to the lake, ate our picnic dinner, fished a little and just relaxed. Left the kids home with Aunt Kristin and Uncle Scott!! It was heaven. :) Gavin got a little nibble but missed the fish. He was frustrated that I wouldn't pack up and leave to a better spot but I was happy right where we were. So what if we didn't catch a fish. It was just nice to be together without the kids for a minute!!

My Family

Okay so I finally made my first blog!! It is a work in progress!:) Thanks to my wonderful cousin Liz who helped me til the wee hours of the morning it is up and running. She said that if I'm going to put it on my facebook profile I should probably post something so that when people look at it that there is something to read. HaHa!!
So, about me and my family, Gavin and I got married June 11, 1999. TEN years this month!! Holy cow time flies when you're having fun!! We have three beautiful boys and a new little puppy named Harley. My boys are Ty, age 8, Shay, age 5, and Cade, age 2. They are definitely a handful and they keep me on my toes but it is a lot of fun and I wouldn't trade a minute of it for the world. We just purchased a house in my home ward in American Fork and we are loving it!! It is an older home but I am having a blast working on the yard and making things my own. There are 10 boys under the age of 8 in our cul-de-sac. So it is making for a fun summer already.
